In this announcement:Thursday, November 26, 2009 - Thanksgiving Day - is a recycling and trash collection holiday. After the holiday, all County-provided recycling and trash collections will slide, and be one day later than normal.

America Recycles Day wrap-up
In our last holiday email, we announced the four paper shredding and donation events we held on November 14 and 15, 2009, in celebration of America Recycles Day.The statistics from those events are:
- 1,188 vehicles serviced through the four event sites (Eastern Montgomery and Upcounty Regional Service Centers and John F. Kennedy and Walt Whitman High Schools).
- 40,900 pounds (or 20.45 tons) of paper shredded and recycled
- 7 donation trucks filled with a wide variety of household goods
